Together the Armitage Group has a team nearly fifty strong based in four centres Albany, Auckland, Wellington and Sydney with installations and equipment installed from Brisbane to Adelaide, Milford Sound to Kaitaia.
Armitage was formed in 1994 as a systems integration and security company working in both the commercial and large public infrastructure sectors. Work included CCTV, fibre optic networks, access control, building management and display systems. Over the years the scope and scale of projects has increased while the core project management team has remained providing a central pillar of strength for the company.
In 2007 Armitage began a Fire Safety division - Armitage Fire with the aim of providing total site management solutions for infrastructure clients further supporting the Armitage intent to provide a ‘turn key’ solution.
In 2008 Armitage were chosen to form the technical wing of the recently formed Auckland Motorway Alliance (AMA) a ten year alliance with the New Zealand Transport Agency to maintain and improve the Auckland Motorway Network including both the Johnstone’s Hill and Victoria Park Tunnels.
Following this in 2009 Armitage acquired Aspect Solutions Ltd (ASL) a company specialising in the supply and installation of Intelligent Traffic Systems, this acquisition further enhanced the group’s capacity to provide all infrastructure solutions for its transportation clients and include a nationwide network of sites and operators. Included in this acquisition was ASL Australia Pty Ltd giving Armitage both greater market opportunities and further engineering and management capacity.
