In June 2019 Armitage Group were awarded the ATMS and ITS package of works for the Auckland Northern Corridor Improvements (NCI) project forming part of the Waka Kotahi Western Ring Route linking SH1 with SH18 improving transport options on the North Shore of Auckland. Engaged by the Fulton Hogan / HEB led Alliance the Armitage scope of works include the backbone and nodal fibre communications network, roadside furniture, motorway and regional VMS, CCTV, ramp signalling systems (RSS), advance warning signs (AWS), inductive loops, emergency telephony and fibreoptic vehicle detection acoustic sensing. Although COVID interruptions have impacted on the total programme much construction, equipment supply and enabling works has taken place to date.
